BHUTAN TELECOM WON BY 5 RUNS

The day has been an perfect for the cricket with clear sky and with Bhutan telecom the only undefeated clubs elected to bat first against Youth11 for a place in the final, Jigme singye was caught lbw early in the over with Tashi playing well on the other end, his cuts and pull were awesome to watch.

Skipper Dorji couldn’t last long when cut the ball right to the fielder, supprit join Tashi and their partnership anchored the team total of 148, Supprit support Tashi well with some Excellent lofted shot above the fence, they took on the Youth11 bowlers and keep pressure on the youth11, Tashi after a brilliant knock of 32 was caught off Raj Kumar but the damage has been done already. Shiva followed the footstep of Tashi and cracked few boundaries along with Thinley Tenzin after Suprith handful knock came to end, they added 30 odd runs in the board. Bhutan Telecom made 148 runs in their allocated 20 over.

Youth11 has been not very successful runs chaser for quite sometimes but the climax of the match towards end was something to be remembered for long time, opener Kamal and prem could not match the pace of Bhutan Telecom Opener Bikash Gurung and Thinley Tenzin, as usual Thinley Tenzin gave the break though when he sent Kamal back to pavilion which sent the Skipper Uttam, he did played quite few good shots before third seamer supprit got him out.

Experience Batsmen and veteran Subash walks in the middle, got himself off the mark with singles, Youth11 were in deep trouble when wicket feel cheaply at other end, Jigme Thinley the young hitter walks in and attack the bowler instantly hitting over the fence and put pressure on the Telecom Bowlers before he was trapped LBW by Thinley Tenzin. 86 for 6 wicket down after 12 overs,Youth11 still have the chance to win, Subash smashed few boundaries which his team wanted.

With Extras adding to their team total due to the coldness that bowler had when the sun sets off the Mountain, with just two over left and Subash still in the Center, Youth11 Dressing rooms have hope that they could still win, but as wickets tumble at other end and Subash keep off the Strike for while, pressure mounted on Youth11. 6 balls and 18runs to win, shiva step up to bowl his last overs, Subash was Caught on the First balls, with 5 balls and still 18runs to win.

Shiva was feeling the nervousness as he bowls wide runs and wicketkeeper diving effort couldn’t stop the ball going for extras two bye runs, last wicket for Bhutan Telecom to finish the over, shiva next balls was a dot ball, crowd are still unmoved from their seat as they were shouting for wide deliveries.

As shiva goes to finish his over, his third ball was another wide ball and the equation was 12 runs from 4 balls, tension all around the field as Skipper Dorji taps Shiva, shiva wide gave Youth11 a meager chance for victory, on 5th ball Umpire Monaj gave No Ball for fielding restriction as Skipper Dorji had only 3 fielder in the Circle, the real test for an cricketer seems to be tested with 7 runs to win from two ball, shiva could only force for single runs and another single to finish the over and Youth11 Innings as well. Bhutan Telecom at the end wins by 5 runs and Cheers all around and will play against Friend’s United on 28th January 2006.
