Bhutan Telecom Shattered Druk11 dream
The Afternoon match between Bhutan Telecom and Druk11 saw some new record as Bhutan Telecom’s Thinley Tenzin takes hat-trick and become first bowler to take hat-trick in twenty20 Tournament. Bhutan Telecom after winning the toss elected to bat in cold conditions as the suns hides behind the could making it harder for the players in the field. Opener Tashi and Jigme singye made good start as both the batsmen attack the opening bowler Dilip Kumar Subba and Bikash Gurung, Jigme Singye took charge on Dilip subba pulling and hooking over Mid Wickets for runs.
Dilip Subba came back strongly in his second over to remove danger batsmen Tashi who was on having tough time making only 6 of 13 balls, Dorji The telecom Skipper walk in to join the party with Jigme singye as he crafted the ball into third man region for easy two runs on several occasion and few beautiful cover drive on his way to 18 runs, the highest scorer for the team. Jigme Departed shortly when Dilip Subba edged him for a fine catch by wicket keeper. Rest of the Telecom batsmen couldn’t contribute much runs except from chencho who scored 9 runs along with the tail enders, Skipper Ashish lead by example as he wrap up the Telecom Tail enders and bowled them out for 120 runs, he bagged 3 wickets.
With a disappointment performance against Friend’s United on saturday, Druk11 Skipper Ashish regroup his young guns and in came opening batsmen Sanjevan and Sonam for Do or Die run chase of 121 runs, Bhutan Telecom fast bowler gave early break through when Supprit trapped Sonam lbw, sanjevan was all fired up and starts to attack the Telecom Bowler as he charge them and hits for boundary on several occasion, the Commentator Kencho Tshering was excited as well with his batting as kept the good words flowing from him. There were cheers all over the pavilion stand each time he charges out and hit’s out, luck doesn’t seems to favor him as ball which would have gone for yet another two runs crashed into his stump which kept low.
The bowlers were having a great time controlling line and length as the breeze blowing from archery end swung the balls way wides which added the runs for the Druk11 totals, as many as 45 runs were given extras. Skipper Dorji Introduce himself with jigme singye operating at other end to make it spin duo, his bowling change paid off when jigme singye got the wicket of Chirac for a simple runs, In come the Druk11 skipper and the crowd and his team mates cheers as he is the only hope if they want to win match, already 6 wicket down, Ashish Chhetri took full charge and punish the duo spinner for three consecutive runs before he departs for 17 runs after a good stumping by Wicketkeeper Tashi.
As the extras keep coming from negative bowling by bowler, precisely 4 overs left and 21 runs to win, Druk11 are at the edged of Pavilion when the magician of the day medium pace Thinley Tenzin second overs turn the match taking two wickets in two balls, as he goes for the hat-trick ball, Druk11 last batsmen Nar Bahadur was completely taken by surprised as he was cleaned bowled and got his hat-trick, Bhutan Telecom players were Jubilant as they lifted Thinley tenzin up. Bhutan Telecom wins by 21 runs, Man of the Match Thinley Tenzin said that he was very happy for getting wickets and most important his team won the match.
Druk11 after losing both the league games are out of the Tournament, rest of the team are yet to decided for semi final berth later this Saturday when, Kanglung Hiflier takes on Drupchu11 and Friend’s United Takes on Bhutan Telecom.
