BT met Druk Trowa in the eighth match of the tournament. After winning the toss, BT elected to bat first. BT suffered early blows, when they lost both openers Chencho Dorji and Tashi in the fifth over. That brought team captain Dorji and Jigme Singye to the centre. They put up a 51-run partnership before Dorji was caught behind by the wicketkeeper. BT was in all sorts of trouble, when they were down by 7 wickets with just 105 on the score sheet. It was the eighth wicket stand between Jigme Singye and Shiva, which saw BT through.

BT number eight batsman Shiva produced some blistering strokes and a quickfire 64 runs of just 32 balls; and, on the other side, Jigme Singye produced some classic drives all around the park. Together they added 169 runs and set up a huge target of 344 runs.
“Having lost wickets on the other side, it was a difficult situation to bat on,” Jigme said. “It’s a great satisfaction for me to set a record but, at the same time, pressure; because you expect to carry on with the same performance in the remaining matches,” he added.
