Dechencholing girls clutched victory from the Yangchen Gasel in U16 girl’s school cricket championship yesterday at Jigmethang ground. In second game Lungtenzampa boy’s won against Changangkha in Class VII&VIII category.
The matches were delayed by rain. It was scheduled to have three finals but class V&VI category has been postpone to Tuesday 27 September 2011.

In the first match, Yangchen Gasel won the toss and opted to field first. Dechencholing scored 68 runs in 10 overs. Ritchi Choden captain was the highest scorer of 34runs. Yangchen Gasel scored 60 runs. It was situation, when Yangchen girl’s needed 9 runs from 6 balls but none of the tail ender ended with big shots. This was Dechencholing MS School’s first U16 Girls achievement. Woman of the Match was awarded to Ritchi Choden of Dechencholing. Best Bowler of the tournament was Dorji Zangmo of Yangchen Gasel LS School. Best Batswoman of the tournament was Dorji Wangmo of Yangchen Gasel.

Bowled out
The second match ended with bowled out. Changangkha won the toss and elected to bat first. Changangkha scored 44 runs all out. Though the target was less but Changangkha bowlers showed that they have a best bowling attack. It was a situation where Lungtenzampa could have easily snatched victory but after the loss of captain’s wicket, Lungtenzampa put themselves into a dead position. 3 overs left, 1 wicket in hand and 2 runs to win. Both the teams were in nail biting situation. Aita bowled 3 dot balls but fourth ball was considered as wide. The score were tie. Aita bounce back with inswing yoker clinch the last wicket. The match was decided with bowled out. Lungtenzampa won by one hit. Man of the Match was awarded Tandin Tshewang of Lungtenzampa. Best Bowler of the tournament was Sonam Jamtsho of Changangkha LS School. Best Batsman of the tournament was Ugyen Dorji of Changzamtog LS School.
