Drugyel Lower Secondary School With Winner Trophy as Chief Guest Tashi Applauds

Drugyel Lower Secondary School became the first school to lift the School Cricket Championship trophy after they beat Khangkhu M.S.School by 8 wickets today in the class 5 & 6 Category played in Rinpung Ground. The school tournament came late into paro but the Spirit and Enthusiasm shown by the school kids is immense, there were buzz amongst the players as they walk into the filed to do fielding and batting, some played sensible while other just gave a good try to have some kind of appreciation from their team mates and teacher.


Khangkhu Bowler in Action

The Final Match started around 9:30 AM in morning, Drugyel School Captain after winning the toss decided to field first which was an brave move. The skipper Rinzin himself lead the bowling attack to take send back opener and first down batsmen early in the overs, his rhythm and good bowling action impressed all the onlookers and his team mates. Khangkhu bastmen couldn’t do well with impressive bowling attack from Drugyel School to all out them for 64 runs in 12 overs. Skipper Rinzin was pick of bowler taking 5 wickets for 15 runs.

Drugyel School Batsmen Yeshey Pulls

The chase has always not been an easy one for all the school but given a time and luck, Drugyel School lost their opener cheaply but they have their batsmen in Yeshey to take the attack on, he along with Sonam reach home with lost of two wickets. Yeshey scored 26 runs while Sonam made 15 runs.

Mr, Tashi, the Administrative officer of Paro College of Education was chief guest and he awarded the Prizes and Trophy to Winners’ and Runner’s Up.

Rinzin, The Captain Courageous from the Drugyel School was Declared Man of the Match for his 5 Wickets haul, later he was adjudged the Best Bowler of the Tournament.

The Next tournament will be for Girls and Class 7 & 8 Category, which will be held after Mid Term Exam.
