Afghanistan thrashed Bhutan by 225 runs on the fourth day of the ongoing SAARC twenty20 held at Favahmulah cricket ground, Maldives. Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Afghans set the second highest run of the tournament with 295. They earlier scored 313 against the Maldives.
Medium pacer Sonam Tobgay was the pick of the bowlers for Bhutan with four wickets while Kencho Norbu picked two. Bhutan dropped four easy catches and another three or four half chances, had they held on to four easy catches, Afghanistan would have been restricted below 180 runs.

Bhutan 1st break Through
In reply, Bhutan managed to score only 70 runs in its 20 overs. Top scorer Tashi Yoedzer Tshering managed only 18 runs.
“We actually bowled well to restrict them to that score,” said Bhutan captain, Jigme Singye. “The tournament has been a high scoring one averaging 200 runs and with small ground it was difficult to control even the miss-time hitting that went for six,” he added.
Tomorrow, Afghanistan takes on Sri Lanka in first Semi Final while Pakistan take on Maldives in the Second Semi Final. The Final is scheduled on 7th November.
