What could be the first close encounter for Himalayan Adventure & Druk Trowa in the tourney so far came with boys from phuntsholing on Saturday.

Himalayan Adventure & Druk Trowa won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to score102 runs in 19.4 which was a decent target to defend. Three of their batsmen managed to be in double figure, Lakshmi leading from the front scored 20 runs from 16 balls backed by quick fire from Chencho who went on to score 19 runs from 9 ball and Sonam Thinley scored 19 runs from 23 balls. Disciplined bowing and fielding from Pling warriors restricted their target to 103 runs to win and Tarun was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets conceding eight runs in just 2.4 overs.

BCCB Twenty20 Result and Match Report

BCCB Twenty20 Championship has started from 16th April 2011 at Jigmethang Thimphu. The first match was played between Dot Com and BTCL. BTCL won the toss and opted to bat first. In the third ball of first over, opener Tandin was drop at slip of Susil’s off break bowl by Kinley but took the wicket of Bikash in his fifth ball while he tried playing from the top was brilliantly caught at cover by Jigme Singye. BTCL’s second wicket fell of Sanjog Chettri in 2 over bowl by Tandin Wangchuk the slow medium pacer when score was 18 runs on the board.

BCCB Level 0 Coaching Course, 2-3 April 2011,Thimphu

Thimphu school gets more cricket coaches as the cricket board has successfully completed level O coaching course in the capital. It’s been almost five year since the Bhutan cricket conducted the last level O course in Thimphu. In the two day course 17 teachers (3 females & 14 male) participated but still four teachers were could not take part in the course.

Paro Umpires get a boost

The Bhutan Cricket Council Board’s Level-O (Level Zero) course on umpiring started at the Paro College of Education (PCE) in Paro today. 10 male and 4 female trainees of PCE are taking part in the two-day course. It is aimed at preparing them as umpires for the for the up-coming school and club tournaments.

Refresher Course for Level O Coaches in Punakha District

March 16th, 2011

Bhutan cricket council board conducted refresher course for level O coaches in Punakha which was attended by games teachers from various school in Punakha and Wangdue Dzongkhags. The main objective of the refresher course was to revitalize and revamp the technical aspects of the game to those teachers which had already taken part in the level O coaching camp last year.

Sarpang District concluded the Inaugural Twenty20 cricket tournament after two weeks of blistering entertainment played in the Gelephu Sports Ground, local team from neighboring country India also participated in tournament where they walk away being winner. The tournament is being conducted by BCCB branch office in Gelephu.

Bhutan 7th position in Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 8

In the seventh/eighth play-off, Bhutan recorded a last-ball two wickets victory over The Bahamas. After a disappointing tournament with both bat and ball, Jigme Singye and Manoj Adhikari came to the party for the Asian side and helped them secure a positive end to a disappointing tournament.

Bhutan out of Pepsi ICC WCL Div. 8 after losing to host Kuwait

Kuwait dominated once again on day three of Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 8 after ripping through Bhutan’s batting line-up and skittling the Asian side for just 31 runs.

The four losing sides Suriname, Bahamas, Gibraltar and Bhutan are all relegated out of Pepsi ICC WCL Div. 8. Gibraltar will take on Bhutan while Bahamas will face Suriname on Thursday in a series of cross-over matches.
