Sir,

I was one of the participants of the umpiring course in Ugyen Academy, whose news you have published la.

Under the heading 'Mr Ugyen Dorji Explains the participants the theory part', a Mr. Ugyen from Punakha Higher Secondary School has been quoted. As far as I know such a person from that school has not participated in the course. Please verify the correctness of your information before publishing it.

Another sad thing which I want to share is the behaviour of Mr. Kinley Dorji, the focal person for Punakha District. He was the organiser of the course, being the games-in-charge from Ugyen Academy. He behaved in a manner unfitting for a host, not to mention that it was most unfiiting for an umpire. He was engaged in a verbal conflict with a teacher from another school, threatening that teacher, even challenging him for a fight on the field! And all this in front of about 20 teachers from various schools and students from Ugyen Academy.

I am not taking any sides, or suggesting that one is right and other is wrong. In fact i dont know exactly what was the reason for this incident, but the way the focal person who hosted this camp reacted to the situation was a real shame for the bhutan cricket board.

If this person is going to be in charge of the things, i dont think that cricket has a good future in punakha/wangdue dzongkhags la.

Dear Criketers of Bhutan.
I am an Ex teacher of PHSS who had an opportunity to work in Punakha in the period 1979--88. I am a qualified cricket coach from NIS, Patiala India . I tried to popularise this game in that period. Unfortunately I had to leave Bhutan in search of better career in India. Whenever I hear about the popularity this game is gaining in Bhutan I feel delighted. I am sure with genuine efforts and keen interest Bhutan will have a good and balanced team.
Wishing u all BEST OF LUCK &bright Future
I am a well wisher of Bhutan
