Assam Thrashed Sarpang XI Yet Again

Their Batting line up and accurate bowling made hard for both the Home Team Sarpang XI and Thimphu XI, Sarpang XI yet again suffering from the Giants Assam Team in Terms of Cricketing Knowledge are now a game away from being knocked out from the Tournament. The Second round of the Last Shangrila Match played yesterday in the Gelephu Sport Association Ground saw some stunning shots and entertainment from the Batsmen of Assam XI Parmeswar. As the rain has been hitting the Town for whole night and at the official start of the match, rain seems to have carried on, the ground has been wet and the pitch at drier side with covers on. Umpires and the official decided to wait till 11 am in the morning for a good weather condition and favorable for the cricket match.

paddingThe rain stopped on the way as the news from the curator confirm the possibility of play at 11:30 Am, the match was reduced to 25 overs a side with two and half hours of time loss, Sarpang XI Captain lucky this time too as he choose to field first thinking that the ground would do a favor for his team, his decision to field first was right as the ground has some wetness towards the boundary edge but he was proved wrong by the Assam XI opening Batsmen Parmeswar and Lutu Raj as they sets a high tone of blazing strokes from the first ball, parmeswar who has half century in his name during the opening game atoned this time with blistering start hitting boundaries consecutively and taking the score high. His shots were all composed with patience and placement as he pierced the fielder all around and at times clearing over the fielder.

parmeswarbattingOn the other end Lutu Raj well supported him with singles and rotating the strikes, the first 50 runs came in just 8 overs as both the batsmen looked dangerous in the middle, Assam dressing room cheered as parmeswar brough up his 2nd fifty of the tournament with a fours in mid wicket boundary. The opening partnership of 81 runs was going smoothly when Rajeet Got the first break through with a ball coming back to the batsmen and clipping the middles stump. His depart brought Hadungwa in the center with Parmeswar on 67 runs.

Sarpang XI did their best to save the boundary and restrict the flow of runs but with extras coming from the bowler and well settled Parmeswar timing and placement made the fielder left all dazed as they could just help the ball from the boundary rope. Parmeswar along with Hadungwa carried on the onslaught, with five wicket down and parmeswar still in the crease, Assam XI are bound to set a big target for the Sarpang XI, Parmeswar brought up his century on the last overs when he got a single of the Kumar bowling, His team mate applauds and he proudly raise his bat, his innings saw 12 fours and a six, Sarpang XI players all congratulates him as he walk off the field not out on 101. Assam Made 195 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 25 over leaving Sarpang XI a mammoth target.

bowlingSarpang XI started their chase with a shaky as the experienced Assam Bowler Jicki Brahma and Herojit doing the damaged from the starts removing both the openers in their overs. None of the sarpang XI batsmen could faced the Assam XI as the batsmen just walk in and out of the pavilion, Assam Captain brought himself early in the bowling changed to take two quick wicket to send back the top order batsmen to pavilion, Sarpang XI were all out for 42 runs in 13 over. The match was a one sided as the Strong Assam XI showing the class acts both in batting and fielding.
