Thimphu Under-19 Girls Tournament Started
Thimphu Under-19 Girls tournament started yesterday at Dechencholing Ground where defending Champion Dechecholing Middle Secondary School took on Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School. The Match was an one sided on with Dechencholing School having 8 of their players represented Bhutan in the Under-19 ACC Women’s Championship last December. having won the toss by lungtenzampa captain Arpana Rai, she asked her counterpart to bat which was an bold decision but the Dechencholing School has another idea of making the most use of their experience player.
Opening batsmen had a tough time seeing few overs from the Lungtenzampa Bolwers but wit wides in every overs and poor ball beings bowled, Dechencholing Batsmen had little difficult in negotiating and keep on pushing singles and twos. Opener Yeshi and Tshering pem could’t last long eventually being bowled by Kabita Chhetri, Choening Dema then walked in to make best use of the poor bowling from the Lungtenzampa, she played a sensible and waiting game to score an healthy 44 with Dechen Wangmo giving her partnership of 79.
Lungtenzampa Bowlers bowled an astonishing 127 extras in wides and byes to make an target of 146 in 30 overs. Lungtenzampa had big target to chase and Coach Ugyen Dorji has his plan for the girls to play with straight bat and glue in the crease as long as possible for the openers, but the openers couldn’t last long with accurate and fast bowling from the Dechencholing Bowlers, Arpana Rai, the captain of lungtenzampa was the only resistant batsmen for the Dechencholing bowlers as she cleanly negotiate the balls and played on the merit, later after her dismissal, lungtenzampa batsmen just couldn’t stick in the crease to finally all out them for 34 runs and dechencholing school winning by massive 212 runs.

Match Won : Yangchenphug School
In the Second Match of the Under-19 Girls Tournament, Yangchephug School won by 40 runs against Motithang School played today. Yangchephug School batted first after winning the toss to put an total of 136 runs of which 90 runs came from wides and extras bowled by the inexperienced Motithang School fielding their first Team in the Girls Tournament.
Motithang in reply couldn’t reach the target when Yangchephug bowler bowled better line and length and restricted extras.

Match : Lungtenphug “B” Vs Jigme Losel.
Lungtenphug “B” came through an ease win over Loselling School in the Class 5 & 6 Tournament played in Changlimithang Yesterday when they won by 63 runs. Batting first Lungtenphug posted a total of 167 in their 20 overs with hard hitting batsmen in Karma Gyeltshen leading from the front with blistering shot all over the park. Loselling School after their first win over Changangkha “A” last weekend. Lungtenphug “B” Booked their place in the semi final where they will face Changangkha “B”.

Match Won : Zilukha School
Zilukha School had a tough time beating Chamgzamtok School today when the match turned out to be an exciting one after Chamgzamtok Posted a Lowely total of 84 runs with brilliant bowling performance from the Zilukha School Boys. Most of the Chamgzamtok Batsmen were caught behind by agile wicketkeeper after playing loose shot. With 18 balls left and 12 runs need for the Zilukha to win with three wicket in hands, Chamgzamtok bowler couldn’t contend giving extras with miss field and drop catches and run out chance. Zilukha School came home with 10 balls to spare.

Match Won : Loselling School
Changbandu has the easy of the win over Zilukha School after they posted 127 runs for the exhaust Zilukha Boys after playing their first match in the morning. Changbandu Bastmen made the better use of the poor bolwing as Sonam Darjey dispatch the ball over the top couple of times, he top the score with 32 runs.
Zilukha School were all out for 52 runs in 9 overs after superb bowling and fielding from the Changbandu School boys. Changbandu School book their Semi Final berth against Dechencholing School next week, Sonam Darjey was Adjudge the man of the Match for his Brilliant 32 Runs and 5 Wicket Hauls.
