Afghansistan Knock Bhutan out

Afghanistan thrashed Bhutan by 225 runs on the fourth day of the ongoing SAARC twenty20 held at Favahmulah cricket ground, Maldives. Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Afghans set the second highest run of the tournament with 295. They earlier scored 313 against the Maldives.

Medium pacer Sonam Tobgay was the pick of the bowlers for Bhutan with four wickets while Kencho Norbu picked two. Bhutan dropped four easy catches and another three or four half chances, had they held on to four easy catches, Afghanistan would have been restricted below 180 runs.

Bhutan lost to Maldives in SAARC Twenty20 Cup

Maldives win the first match of the SAARC Twenty20 Cup beating Bhutan by 6 Wickets. Maldives captain Shafraz Jaleel won the toss on a bright sunny morning in the newly constructed Ahmed Ali Didi Cricket Ground in Fuvahmulah. Shafraz decided to send in the Bhutanese team to bat, hoping that the newly laid artificial wicket would throw up a few surprises early in the morning. He was rewarded early as Bhutan lost their first wicket for 22 runs. Manoj Adhikari was caught by Shafraz off the bowling of Ahmed Umar who went on to take 4 wickets for the young Maldivian side.

New Scheduled announced for SAARC Twenty20 Cup

The Cricket Board of Maldives has announced the new schedule for the SAARC Twenty20 Cup. The tournament has been rescheduled as Bangladesh was unable to send a team to the tournament. The tournament which was schedule to begin on 31 October will now begin on 1 November with hosts Maldives taking on Bhutan.

Bhutan Confirm to Participate in SAARC Twenty20 Cup 2011

Bhutan Cricket Council Board has confirm it’s participation in the U25 SAARC Twenty20 Cup to be held in Maldives from 29th October 2011 to 09th November 2011.

Bhutan will play Host Maldives in opening day of the SAARC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.
