Summer Coaching Camp Concludes in Thimphu

The summer coaching camp for Selected Girls and Boys from the School Tournament for the Selection of U-19 Girls and Under-15 and Under 17 National Players Respectively concluded last saturday. The 10 Days Coaching Camp Covers the aspect of the coaching and skill development where Bhutan Cricket Coaches gave them intensive Basic and Intermediate Coaching Skills. Out of 60 Student who attended the coaching Camp, 30 probable Boys and 30 probable girls would be chosen for the final selection of the National Team to participate in the upcoming ACC Tournament.

The Coaching Camp will continue there after where the Probable would go weekly coaching. Bhutan Cricket Council Board enhance the coaching camp to further improve the players skills and game scenario.

Senior National Cricketer Hands Coaching in Kanglung

coaching_in_kanglungThe Bhutan Cricket Senior National Players in Lobzang Younten and Monaj Adhikari Undertook the Coaching Camp in Kanglung College Where they gave coaching to the University Students. The Coaching camp is part of Bhutan Cricket program where Local Coaches and Senior players undertake the Coaching Camp in Various parts of the Country and School. “There are Not Many Interested in the Cricket game But those who Play are A keen Lover of cricket” Siad Lobzang Youten.

In Meanwhile, The Eastern Dzongkhag Yearly Cricket Tournament will be played soon, news reported by the Monaj Adhikari

Assessment for Samtse District

Bhutan MapBhutan Cricket Coaches will be heading towards Samtse Districts tomorrow for District assessment, Mr Asish Chettri the Executive Board Member and Assistant Coaching Co-ordinator Mr Tshering Dorji, The main aim of the Assessment is to introduced the cricket in the cricket in the school and Institutes. They will meet with the Samtse District Education Officer and school head where they will discussed about promotion of cricket in the School.The assesment is part of Bhutan cricket development program before introduction of cricket.

Bhutan Cricket Recruits Local Coaches

Three local coaches have been recruited by the Board to look after the various schools and Districts. All the Local coaches are from senior players who have represented Bhutan in International Tournmanet, with good amount of experience in the playing, the coaches are given one year contract to look after various schools in Thimphu Districts and Sarpang Districts. The Coaches are: Tshering Tashi, Dorji Dakpa and Sonam Tobgay.

In meanwhile, Assistant Coaching Co-coordinator Tshering Dorji will be heading towards Sarpang District along with Newly Recruited Coach Dorji Dakpa.

Bhutan Cricket Coaches headed toward south for Assessment

Bhutan MapBhutan Cricket Coaching department headed by Coaching Coordinator Mr Damber Singh Gurung and Assistant Coach Mr. Thsering Dorji will be on 4 days visit to Sarpang District which is nearby Indian District of Assam in South. The coaches will do assessment of the district and meet with the District Education Officer of Sarpang District and the Secretary of the Gelephu Sports Association.

“The program is mainly to prepare these district for the upcoming school tournaments which will commence from the Month of April 2007 and to set up a base where local trained coaches will be recruited later on to look after ” as quoted by Mr Damber Singh Gurung. The two coaches will go around the country and do the assessment in other district as well.

The main District Bhutan cricket is targeting are Phuntsholing in the south, Paro in the west, Sarpang in the south.

Winter Cricket Coaching camp underway in Thimphu

Winter Coaching Session in progressBhutan cricket Winter Coaching program is currently underway in the Thimphu District, the coaching camp is basically for the under-13 and under-15 kids for general basic cricket coaching. In mean while the under-15 squad which reach the final of ACC u-15 Challenge Cup 2006, held in Thailand are continuing the coaching program in preparation for the under-17 and u-19 ACC Trophy to be held This Year.

With the performance of Under-15 Squad in the ACC U-15 Challenge Cup, more and more kids are keen for the cricket coaching, a total of 50 kids are currently coaching under different coach, with the shortage of ground and other facilities, coaching timing has to be be rotated between the u-13 kids and u-15 kids.
