Bhutan telecom vs Royal Thimphu College The rain almost spoiled the telecom’s party as the heavy downpour threatened to cease the game and share the points between telecom and RTC. But somehow the dark clouds over team telecom began to phase out as some of their team mates started to offer spiritual smoke to the local deities of Dechenphug. Telecom went on to break the record of the highest runs scored in the tournament 216 runs by the Rigsum CC as they put up enormous score of 231 runs.

On Sunday warriors from Phuntsholing gave tough fight to the tournament favorite Dot com as they went down fighting till the last ball was bowled. Dot Com who is already through to semifinals yet again keeps their clean sheet by winning the last game of the league round against Pling Warriors by 61 runs. Dot com won the toss and opted to bat first and score 170 runs with Thinley Tenzin smashing 41 runs. Explosive Sushil Sharma contributed 20 runs and captain Jigme Singye scored 23 runs. Pling bowler Kinley Dorji manages to take 2 wickets conceding 20 runs in 2 overs.

Last year’s BCCB’s super league champion Rigsum CC demolished the Lhaki group in the second match on Saturday.
After winning the toss Lhaki Group opted to bat first, which proved to be a bad decision as they were bowled out for 28 runs in 13 overs.

What could be the first close encounter for Himalayan Adventure & Druk Trowa in the tourney so far came with boys from phuntsholing on Saturday.

Himalayan Adventure & Druk Trowa won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to score102 runs in 19.4 which was a decent target to defend. Three of their batsmen managed to be in double figure, Lakshmi leading from the front scored 20 runs from 16 balls backed by quick fire from Chencho who went on to score 19 runs from 9 ball and Sonam Thinley scored 19 runs from 23 balls. Disciplined bowing and fielding from Pling warriors restricted their target to 103 runs to win and Tarun was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets conceding eight runs in just 2.4 overs.

BCCB Twenty20 Result and Match Report

BCCB Twenty20 Championship has started from 16th April 2011 at Jigmethang Thimphu. The first match was played between Dot Com and BTCL. BTCL won the toss and opted to bat first. In the third ball of first over, opener Tandin was drop at slip of Susil’s off break bowl by Kinley but took the wicket of Bikash in his fifth ball while he tried playing from the top was brilliantly caught at cover by Jigme Singye. BTCL’s second wicket fell of Sanjog Chettri in 2 over bowl by Tandin Wangchuk the slow medium pacer when score was 18 runs on the board.

The Bhutan Cricket Twenty20 Final Between Bhutan Telecom and Friend’s United saw a scintillating starts till the last wickets of Friend’s United felt, crowd gathered during the course of match and there were cheers all around for the young and smart cricketer of Bhutan Telecom. Bhutan Telecom clinch the Champion Trophy from Friend’s United after their brilliant display in the field, they outplayed Friend’s United in batting as well as bowling restricting a good line and length. The day has been an perfect for the cricket with clear sky and with Bhutan telecom the only undefeated clubs elected to bat first against Youth11 for a place in the final, Jigme singye was caught lbw early in the over with Tashi playing well on the other end, his cuts and pull were awesome to watch.

Skipper Dorji couldn’t last long when cut the ball right to the fielder, supprit join Tashi and their partnership anchored the team total of 148, Supprit support Tashi well with some Excellent lofted shot above the fence, they took on the Youth11 bowlers and keep pressure on the youth11, Tashi after a brilliant knock of 32 was caught off Raj Kumar but the damage has been done already. Shiva followed the footstep of Tashi and cracked few boundaries along with Thinley Tenzin after Suprith handful knock came to end, they added 30 odd runs in the board. Friend’s United bounce back after their defeat from Bhutan Telecom yesterday in the league match, they now will play again in the Final on 28th January as Friend’s United and Bhutan Telecom made through the Final of the Bhutan Cricket Twenty20 Tournament.

The Semi Final Berth took place today in the Changlimithang Cricket Ground as group a winner Kanglung Hiflier took on Group B runner’s up Friend’s United. Kanglung after winning the toss sent Friend’s United to Bat first in Bright sun, their decision didn’t paid off as Friend’s United Opening Batsmen Tshering Dorji and Tshering Tashi Started off in style, cracking boundaries and unbeaten 100 runs partnership between them, Both the Batsmen played superbly taking singles and Putting Pressure to the Kanglung Hiflier, Skipper Lobzang Younten suffered an swollen lumps after an brutal diving effort to save two runs which forced him to go to hospital. Bhutan Telecom wins a thriller against Friend’s United

Crowds Just Love CricketFriend’s United Jinx were broken by Bhutan Telecom as the match turn out to be an Exciting when Bhutan telecom after winning the toss elected to Bat first in Cold Weather, their opening batsmen started well with Tashi and Jigme singye giving the Friend’s United bowler run for their money, with extras coming as if it was an compulsory for the bowler to bowl, their break through came in second overs as Tashi knick Ugyen Dorji to be caught by wicketkeeper diving to his right.

At the end of 4 overs Bhutan Telcom were 44 for lose of one wickets with extras helping the total as well. Drop catches on regulation basic couldn’t help the Friend’s united bowler confidence when Jigme Singye was drop on 11 to hit 47 runs, 3 runs shy from an well deserve half century, his batting showed all the experience he has as the First Under-15 National Team Skipper which were runner ups in the Last ACC U-15 Challenge cup held in Thailand, the quality of his innings with beautiful cover drive and his favorites pull shots send Friend’s United Bowlers all over the park, skipper Dorji added valuable runs and supported Jigme singye at other end, when he was run out after making 14 runs, supprit fired some big shots and so does shiva, Bhutan telecom made 152 in their allocated 20 overs.
