Bhutan Women’s Lost to Thailand and Nepal

Bhutan Women’s National Team suffered another defeat from the reigning ACC Champion Nepal today by 8 wickets after Bhutan manged to make only 31 runs, Nepal Bowler Thapa destroyed the Bhutan batsmen as she took 5 for 5 runs. In reply Nepal came home losing two wickets and winning by 8 wickets.

Bhutan Lost to Iran by 19 Runs

Bhutan batted extremely well in the second match of the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship 2009 played against Iran today in Selangor Turf but their bowler fail to deliver what the team wanted. In a match where Bhutan could have easily won giving the batting depth in which the Bhutanese girls have. Iran after winning the toss elected to bat first and made 134 runs for lose of 6 wickets, Bhutan were penalized 6 runs or one over for slow over rates which the target mounted to 141 to get from 20 overs.

Bhutan batting was going on well in the beginning even after the lose of Tashi Cheki for 3 runs, Yeshi Choden carried the burden on herself to battle the Irani bowler, she was well supported by Sonam Choki the number 5 Batsmen for the Bhutan, they worked hard in getting runs on the board, but with target piling up and less over to go, Bhutan Women’s Fell short by 19 runs in the end. A Defeat which was a wake up call for the Bhutanese Women.

Bhutan Will face Thailand Bayuemas Oval tomorrow which would be an Must win to book a place in the Semi Final

Summer Coaching Camp Started in Thimphu

Bhutan Cricket started their summer coaching camp for U-13 Boys and girls from the 2nd of July, the coaching camp is conducted in the Changlimithang Cricket ground where about 110 Girls and 122 boys from Thimphu district, Paro, Punakha, Wangdue and Gelephu are taking part in 10 days camp. The camp is run by ACC Level Two Accreditation Coaches Tshering Dorji, Ugyen Dorji, Tobgay Wangchuk and with Two Permanent BCCB Coaches Dampo and Sonam Tobgay and national players assisting them.

The Coaching Camp includes the fundamental of batting, bowling and fielding session for about four days and will be given to play matches and match situation for the rest of the days. Each Coaches setup different drills where the boys and girls are rotated in groups.

Bhutan Beat Qatar in ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship 2009

Bhutan made their opening spell of the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship 2009 by beating Qatar by 43 runs played yesterday in Kinrara Oval, Malaysia. Bhutan won the toss and elected to bat first to make 110 for 9 in their 20 overs, Ugyen Dema was sole batsmen to reach double figure of 22 runs in 37 balls. Qatar gave away 50 runs in extras which cost them dearly as they were bowled out for 67 runs in 13.1 overs.

Bhutan Next Match will be against Iran Today at Selangor Turf Club.
