Dechenchol School and Lungtenzampa School In the Girls Final

Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School secured a win in a Must win match today against tougher side Dechencholing Middle Secondary School to Booked a Place in the Final of the Inaugural Girls Tournament alongside Dechecnholing Middle Secondary School who were already in the final after beating both Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School and Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School in the First Preliminary Round and Lungtenzampa in Second Preliminary Round before Losing to Lungtenzampa today.

Yangchenphug had one win and Lungtenzampa having won the Match Against the Dechencholing School Today secured a place in the final through a good run rate maintained.

The Final Match Will be played later next month

Dechencholing Middle Secondary School Remain Unbeaten in the Girls Tournament as they Thrashed Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School Yesterday in the Second Preliminary Round of the Girls Tournament. Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary Win’s It’s First Game when they Defeated Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School in the Second Match of the Second Preliminary Round which put them into a challenge for a place in the final.

In Sarpang Dzongkhag Girls Tournament began yesterday with Gelephu Lower Secondary School taking on Sarpang Middle Secondary School, Gelephu Lower Secondary Winning by 7 wickets.The Sarpang Dzongkhag Coaching Co-ordinator Tshering Dorji, said that Gelephu Lower Secondary had superior edge over Sarpang Middle Secondary School with Regular Coaching and practice where as Sarpang Middle Secondary are far behind with less coaching and practice and playing for first time. Both the school had pretty much good support from the School as Principal and Head Teacher were present during the match. The Matches are played on Weekends and on Govt Holiday.

Dechencholing Middle Secondary School Remain Unbeaten in the On Going Girls Tournament In Thimphu as they Beat Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School in Tense Match when the later needed just 10 Runs to win the match with plenty of overs remaining and just a wicket left. It was the Bowlers Nightmare for all three teams as the wides and extras continue to add to the total runs. Dechencholing School winning in the end as their strike bowler taking hattrick to seal the victory.

The First Match of the day between Yangchenphu Higher Secondary and Lungtenzamp Middle Secondary saw Yangchenphug bouncing back after they were defeated by Dechencholing Middle Secondary in the opening Match of the Girls Tournament last Saturday. Yangchenphug Skipper put the Lungtenzampa to bat first and were bowled out for 35 Runs in 11 Overs. Lungtenzampa then reached the target in 9 Overs with 7 Wickets remaining.

Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School now have to win both the Match which will be played Tomorrow and Next week to make into the final.

As of now. Dechencholing Middle Secondary leads with 4 Points, Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School with 2 Points and Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School with zero Point after the First Preliminary Round. The Second Preliminary will be played from Tomorrow.

Girls Tournament Abandoned due to Rain

The Second Match Between Yangchephu Higher Secondary School and Lungtenzampa Middles Secondary School has to be Abandoned due to Rain. The Match was halfway Underway when Lungtenzampa batting first put on a total of 70 runs on the Board. With Second Innings About to Underway, Heavy Rain shower to disrupt the Match. Match Referee and Umpires Thereafter called off the Match. The Afternoon Match Between Dechencholing Middle Secondary School and Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary had to be called off as the Rain Continued and cricket not possible.

Both the Coaches were disappointed and so are the players as they were looking forward for the Tournament, “We have been really looking forward to playing the tournament to get ourself exposed to the Cricket Game” Said Lungtenzampa Skipper.

Rest of the Match will be played Alternative weeks after the School Boys Tournament which will be played this Week.

Dechencholing M.S.School Wins The Opening Girl’s Tournament

Dechencholing Middle Secondary Surprased Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School in the Opening of the Girls Tournament in Thimphu Today, Dechencholing Skipper after winning toss put Yangchenphu To Bat First. None of the Yangchenphu batsmen could make any impression as they were bowled out for 49 Runs, Extras Top scored with 34 runs.

The Bowling was not up to the expectation of the spectators as they bowled wides and out of crease many a times.
With 50 Runs on the Board to defend, Yangchenphug Bowler couldn’t do much as the 1st Over conceded 18 runs with 12 wides coming, the girls playing the first tournament had the Nerves on. Dechencholing Batsmen showed little temperament in batting as they displayed what exactly in batting book with few drives and on drives. Thimphu School Girl’s Cricket Tournaments Kicks Off Tomorrow

The Thimphu School Girl’s Tournament Kicks off Tomorrow in the Capital City, Thimphu where three School, Yangchenphu Higher Secondary, Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School and Dechencholing Middle Secondary School will compete in the first ever Girl’s Tournament to be organized by Bhutan Cricket.

The Preparation for the School Team has been carried out by Local Coaches under the Guidance from Damber Singh Gurung, Coaching Co-ordinator where he undertook refresher course with the Local Coaches on coaching skills. The preparation begun last year around October Month where Local Coaches and Senior Players gave coaching session on weekly basic and The Country Development Officer Roger Binny having a session with the Girls during his Last Visit to Bhutan.
