Gelephu Schools Gears Up

Roger Binny With the Gelephu StudentGelephu schools kids tore apart Roger Binny hearts as he was welcomed by thousand of kids to see him and give a inspiration talk to them, Roger Binny, the Country Development officer of ACC who was here in the Country for assignment of cricket in Bhutan.

His Second visit mark the cricket in Sarpang District as Bhutan Cricket board organised his trip to Gelphu District for the Development of cricket in the region. Mr Roger Binny meet with the Gelephu Lower Secondary school headmaster and Higher Secondary Principal where he imparted the knowledge of setting up the cricket in schools which will eventually help in promoting the cricket all over. Roger Binny To Visit Bhutan

Roger BinnyAsian cricket Council development Officer RogerBinny to Visit Bhutan for second time for country assignment from 25th March to 30th March. He will be going to Gelephu District where Bhutan Cricket Recently conclude the Coaching Camp and Level “O” coaching course. He will be visiting the schools and will have coaching camp for all the Gelephu schools.

His Visit will also mark the finding of a suitable ground in gelephu where he will be inspecting the school ground which the Bhutan Cricket can develop for the use of cricket purpose only. He will be meeting with the Dasho Dzongda the District Administrator and Bhutan India Friendship Association member for stronger tier with the Bhutan Cricket to develop cricket in the Region.

Bhutan Umpires Conduct Umpiring Course

Umpiring ParticipantBhutan Cricket first ever Umpiring course was held in Paro district which had 8 paro district teacher participating and 12 trainees from National Institute of Education of which 3 were womens. The course was conducted by Umpire Dorji along with Coach Tobgay and Sonam Phuntsho, the paro District Coaching Coordinator, Dorji has been the most experienced Umpire who have Umpire in the ACC International Matches and did Level II Accredited Umpiring Course in Malaysia.

Cricket Development Activities in Sarpang District

This is a file picture of cricket development activities currently underway in Sarpang District, the Coaching Coordinator and Assistant Coaching Coordinator are on 15 days tour to the southern district of Sarpang.

Interestingly there are plenty of girls playing cricket in the school, these girls were given basic coaching technique of batting and bowling.

Bhutan Cricket Coaches hands coaching course to school teacher and student

Bhutan Cricket coaching coordinator Damber Singh Gurung and Assistant Coaching coordinator Tshering Dorji are on 15 days tour to Saprang District to Conduct Level “O” coaching course and cricket development session in the District. Saprang District being border with the Indian in the south have lot of Kids Playing Cricket. As many as 1000 + kids were estimate playing cricket in a school.

Kids Playing in Sarpang DistrictThe schools teacher were given level “O” coaching course for a day where basic coaching and rules were taught, a news report from Sarpang district said that lady teacher were also involved in the cricket with 5 teacher attending the level “O” course.
The coaches will visit 15 Sarpang District school and meet with the principal and do coaching session in every school.

Similar coaching course and umpiring course will be held in Paro District in March where Local coach Tobgay Wangchuk and Paro District Coaching Coordinator sonam phuntsho who were recently back from Level I Tutor course from Malaysia. Senior Umpire Dorji will lead the Umpiring Course assist by the two coaches. The course will be conducted in the National Institute of Education where all the Paro District schools games teacher will be participating along with Teacher Trainees and Local cricket lover’s.
